well... it IS the weekend!

Sooo many jobs to do tonight but by the time the kids went to bed (at 9.30pm!!) I just couldn't be bothered.
So I did this instead!

Yay Alfie!

Alfie's class had a competition to grow a sunflower and write a diary about it.
The sunflower had to go back to school today for judging and.....Alfie won!!!!
Not because it was the biggest, tallest, prettiest sunflower but because his diary was judged to be the bestest!!
Well done little man! x

stickers ordered!

Ordered some stickers from Moo today!
Very excited....they're all pics from my blog. I've never had any made before 'cos you can't really have stickers made of work you've done for someone else until it's in the shops....and by then you've moved on!
Can't wait for them to arrive!

sunny weekend

Hottest weekend of the year so far....even hotter than Spain!
Had a fab weekend with a couple of impromptu bbq's, trips to the park and lots of beer and ice cream (not at the same time)

Lovely sunny day, just finished work and I'm off to pick up the little people from school... then on to the park to meet my sis and her little people...happy weekend!

...How the characters from this week would look if they had a group photo....

The little people had their class photos taken at school last week.
The photographer is trying to be all funky and modern and the class photo now consists of different groups of kids doing daft poses against a white ground which he then puts together to make this photo that's like a mile long...
Now I don't want to sound like an old fuddy duddy but I prefer the good-old-fashioned-normal-size photo they used to get. It cost me 50 quid to buy both photos last year and they have sat in the cupboard all year...who wants a mile long photo of other people's kids doing naff poses on their wall?!

cooking all day

I've managed to duck and dive and avoid it for a few weeks...but today I could put it off no longer. It was my turn to cook the family Sunday dinner!
Roast beef and yorkshire pud for eleven....went down very well :-)

lovely day off

...so we shopped, did lunch and even managed to squeeze in an afternoon nap! Bonus!
Must do it more often!

Tonight we have swapped our eldest (well behaved quiet daughter) for my sister's middle one (wild and very excited 7 year old boy)...I think we drew the short straw, the sleepover novelty hasn't yet worn off for him and our youngest (wild and very excited 5 year old boy) who have been fighting and playing musical beds since 8pm....all is quiet at the moment so hopefully they are too tired for further battle....could be a long night...

time for a day off...

It was always my intention, when the little little one started school, to have Fridays off....to shop, clean and generally catch up with myself.
However, after the first three weeks I realised that I would actually rather work than clean anything so I haven't really bothered... but the other-half isn't working tomorrow so I'm not either!
We're gonna go into Leeds, buy new clothes and do lunch! 
How very civilised!

When I worked full time on womenswear I used to like it...but now I spend my days doing baby graphics it's a bit of a chore going back to garments...
Just wanna get back to my proper work now thanks...

Been working on womenswear garment design...it's ok but not my fave...hopefully I'll get it finished this week so I can get back to my normal work....

another day, another park

Me and Neil took the little people to Lister Park today....what on earth will we do when they are too old to go to the park with us?
...Oh yes....we'll have a lie in, go shopping, do lunch, have an afternoon nap and go to the pub... :-)

dog walk

Poppy the Puppy has now had her injections and was allowed to come to the park with us today for the first time. She had a fab time ...of course.

It's really cold out and all the spiders have come inside to get warm...they're driving me mad.

...so Alfie enjoyed the school trip even without me!!
The best bit was when an animal nicked the bag of food from Mrs Powell. What animal was it? "....er...well it wasn't an elephant"

school trip

Alfie goes on his school trip tomorrow - to Canon Hall Farm. They asked for parent volunteers. I volunteered. They had too many volunteers. I can't go.
Alfie cried :-(
I'm sure he'll have fun anyway....

We had a brill time in Barcelona!
Back to it now though....lots of work to do.
Just off to collect the kids and be 'patient mummy' for the evening.
