snow?

Well we have snow.
But like 2cm.
NOT the 50ft drifts I was expecting after hearing the weather men getting their knickers in a knot all week.
My car insurance people even emailed me yesterday wth top tips on surviving the icy blast. What?
Either snow enough for school to text me at 6am to say they're closed and I can stay in bed, or naff off completely. It's March this week. I was hoping for spring, thanks all the same.

bored of the routine

Actually. I don't think it's so much the getting up early that I hate so much. It's the routine. I've been tied to the school routine for so long that I can't actually remember life before it. I bloody hate having to do the same thing every day. The other half suggested I change it up a bit by getting up an hour earlier, going for a jog then making him a full English.
So that was helpful.

back to school

The alarm is back on. How I hate the sodding thing. I'm not a morning person. I do love the feeling of being up early and getting loads of work done before anyone even starts nagging you for it. But not enough to actually live that way. I would so much rather just stay up late and send it to them before they even think about nagging. But you can't stay up late on a night and get up early on a morning for very long without having a total screaming meltdown. So I guess it's an early night for me.
Four and a half years till I'm free of the school routine. And counting...

*free colouring page

Yay hello weekend!
I've made a colouring in page to celebrate.
If you're feeling a bit bored, or if you can't be arsed going out in the freezing cold, or if your kids need entertaining for ten mins while you put your feet up and have a glass of pinot, or if you're trying to avoid cleaning the bathroom ... this one's for you.
Click on the pic. Print it out. And put your bestest felt tip pens to work.
You're welcome.

half term

Ah half term...how great you were.

I loved getting up 1.5 hours later than usual and still being able to start work at the same time.
It was ace not having to break off every afternoon to do the school pickup.
It was also rather fabulous being able to sack it off completely and have the day off yesterday with my sis and the kids. We went trampolining. [Well...they did. My sis and I sat in the cafe and had a moan with a cuppa.]

I wasn't so keen on the fifty thousand meals I had to make and the general constant taxi-ing about of offspring...but you can't have everything eh!

So...until they break up for Easter...in 5 weeks time...I bid thee farewell school holidays 👋🏻.

lots of love ❤️

The other half bought a new mountain bike 3 weeks ago. It has lived in the dining room since then. He doesn't want to put it in the garage, with the other 6 million bikes he owns, until he has installed the MotherOfAllBikeLocks. And an alarm system. As this requires more time than he actually has available (and once complete he won't be able to sit and stare at it 24/7) the sodding bike is propped up against the dining table. And it is proper getting on my wick! He has already cleaned it 10 times more than the bathroom we had installed 18 months ago. He hasn't got time to clean the bathroom. Obvs.
And last night it was so cold that the hose pipe froze. He was unable to hose it down after his jaunt through the muddiest place in Yorkshire. So NOW the bloody thing is propped up against the dining table covered in mud
I kick it every time I walk past.
Happy Valentines Day bike. You are very much loved ❤️

mavis the badger

Mavis says, "I need a holiday."

Fortunately for Mavis it's half term next week.
Unfortunately Mavis has been swanning off a LOT recently so she needs to stay home and get on with some flipping work.
But at least she can turn the alarm off.
So that's something.
ps
I know I know.
This whole thing is so over.
But my friend requested a Mavis in honour of someone we were friends with at school.
Also it's quite addictive.
More fun than the dreaded advent ha ha.

Sunday 11 February 2018

brenda the rabbit

Brenda says, "That's enough now."

So there'll be no more wise words. Nine is enough, it makes a nice little square on my instagram. No need to overdo it eh?

Saturday 10 February 2018

amelia the giraffe

Amelia says, "Mine's a rhubarb gin thanks."

Amelia is going out tonight. With the girls. It could get messy.

Friday 9 February 2018

alan the dog

Alan says, "Thank god it's the weekend."

It's been a long old week for Alan, he's worked very hard.

Thursday 8 February 2018

pauline the cat

Pauline says, "I love getting out of bed when it's dark and cold."

Not really. I made it up. Pauline bloody hates getting up in winter and is in a crap mood till at least lunchtime most days.

Wednesday 7 February 2018

nigel the fox

Nigel says, "It's cold out there, wear a sweater."

Nigel is wrong. It's not cold. It's AbsolutelyBloodyBuggeringFreezing. A sweater isn't gonna be sufficient. Wear every single item of clothing you own. I am.

Tuesday 6 February 2018

cheryl the panda

Cheryl says, "I just can't be arsed."

I know how she feels.

Monday 5 February 2018

Sunday 4 February 2018

Carol says, "Have a day off, it's Sunday."

I'm not listening to Carol. I'm working. Just a bit. To try and catch up.
