...friend in the woods

Gonna try add a picture every day this week.
My big ambition and plan for when my kids went to school was always to write and illustrate children's books....I haven't got round to it yet 'cos I'm too busy with all the other work I've got on...but maybe this will inspire me!

walk in the woods

Another unused character I just coloured in.
We usually do stuff, like walking in the woods, with the kids on a weekend but this weekend was just too busy so we missed worries, there's always next weekend

pumpkin patch

I saw one of my designs in Pumpkin Patch the other day, tried to buy one for a new baby arriving soon in our family but they only had big sizes left...and the tiny ones are cuter!

mabel, betty and annie

I've been going through some old files and found some characters I developed and never used....I've jazzed them up a bit and here they are....maybe one day they could be characters in "my book"....if I ever get round to it....

lovely new book

Bought this fab book from Urban Outfitters yesterday....I like the bit about looking at every day objects as if they were art.

The house is such a tip after a hectic week that I found a work of art in the shower...
two in the bath....

...and one in the bedroom.....

getting round to it...

It would seem that I'm a person who is not very good at 'getting round to it' ....but excellent at 'putting it off'.
At the moment I'm putting off: having my car serviced, sorting out my finances, painting the hallway, finishing the bedroom (which we started decorating last May), cleaning the bathroom, going to Tesco....I could go on forever.
I've been 'getting round to' creating a website for about eight years now... but still putting it off. And of course there are the children's books I was planning to write and illustrate as soon as my youngest started school full time...he started last January and I'm still thinking about getting round to it.
There just doesn't seem time to do these things, or at least there always seems to be something more pressing (or more interesting in the case of household chores) to do.
I've toyed with the idea of writing a blog for ages too and the fact that I'm actually getting round to it is thanks to my friend Justine who asked me to design her blog header (sew Justine sew). I figured that if I could design hers I could do one for me here I am.
Who knows if I'll 'get round to' posting anything else but at least I made a start :-)
