Lockdown Day 38

I've finally finished all my client work and can fully embrace lockdown life along with the rest of the world.

As such the weather has suddenly turned really shit.

So I'm just sitting at my desk drawing stuff that nobody ever asked for.

This is a mish mash of April.

what day is it again?

Lockdown Day 37

Leaping into Wednesday like it's the weekend.
Cos who's to say it isn't.

home again

Lockdown Day 36

Last night I took the Eldest to the big Tesco. I felt it was bending the rules slightly for both of us to go but she has literally only left the house about 3 times in the last 6 weeks and was looking a bit like she was ready to throw the towel in.
As it happened everyone else in Tesco had brought a friend with them too. And anyway she got her own trolley and did my Mum and Dad's shopping while I bought 200 quids worth of snacks for us.
It proper cheered her up. It was the best night out she's had in 6 weeks.

We just stayed at home today. To recover.
I've now got a glass of rosé and we're having a family movie night and pretending it's the weekend.

another day, another walk

Lockdown Day 35

The dog has had enough.

sunday lunch

Lockdown Day 34

We had a bloody lovely Sunday Lunch today. Cooked by a real life chef.
The local fancypants restaurant have started doing a "home dining" menu.
So good that we fell asleep on the sofa afterwards. Like a couple of old people.

weekend vibes

Lockdown Day 33

This weekend we're staying at home. For a change. Cos going out is over rated.

smug

Lockdown Days 31-32

Sometimes you're happy.
Sometimes ... not so much.
But you can always find someone who's #lovinglife and feeling #blessed to irritate the hell out of you.

life on earth

Lockdown Days 28-30

3 more days on planet earth. Mostly the same as the last 4 weeks.

Highlight: 2.5 hours in the Big Tesco.
I'm completely unable to get an online slot any more. Even after staying up till midnight and queueing for 22 minutes in cyberspace for a mid May delivery there were zero available. So I had to actually go there in real life. Took me bloody ages to walk round the entire one way system and cost eleventy billion pounds. Cos you see really nice stuff when you actually walk round a real store! But it was my only trip to civilisation in like forever so I didn't care that it was nearly 10pm when I got home.

weekend

Lockdown Days 26-27
Weekend

Had a lie in...did some cleaning...ate nice food....watched some telly...

Had a bbq tonight. The sun had gone in on the patio so we carried the bbq and outdoor furniture up to the top of the garden where it was still sunny. By the time the food was ready the sun had gone in there too. We were freezing.

Meanwhile my mum and dad are getting cabin fever. My mum is on the government's At Risk list and has to stay home till at least June. At first she bought a treadmill for her daily exercise. But she soon got bored of that. So now they climb over their back wall into the graveyard and walk round a few times. They feel like they've had a day out. And there's never anyone in there. No one who's alive anyway. They walked a mile the other day. And waved over the fence at their neighbours.

still in lockdown...

Lockdown Day 25

The OtherHalf appears to have finished the gardening. He now spends all day washing/riding/staring at his bikes.
The Youngest is still editing photos.
The Eldest is a bit bored so the OtherHalf keeps finding jobs for her. Today she strimmed the front garden. She was thrilled.
I worked all day in what could be possibly described as "loungewear". And no makeup. But I got dressed and put my face on for my weekly trip to M&S tonight. To stock up on weekend food. Because we are eating A LOT these days.

sameness

Lockdown  Days 23 and 24

Same as day 22 really....

Tuesday, 14 April 2020

today

Lockdown Day 22

More garden digging by the OtherHalf.
More baking by the Eldest. (Banana bread today. Delish. We've already eaten the entire loaf.)
More photo editing by the Youngest.
More staring at a computer by me.

Feeling a bit CBA...

yesterday

Lockdown Day 21
Easter Monday

Tesco delivered.
The Eldest baked carrot cake muffins.
I walked 5.9 miles.
Then delivered food to parents and carrot cake muffins to neighbours.
(Didn't dress in a smart suit to deliver. Just the usual jeans and hoodie lockdown outfit. But they were still thrilled.)
Drew some diggers.
Drank wine and watched telly.
Getting well into the swing of this lockdown malarkey.

easter

Lockdown Day 20
Easter Sunday

No playing Hide The Carrot in my sister's garden this year. No bbq. No drinking prosecco with the fam.
But the Easter bunny came and hid some eggs in our garden....which got the kids out of bed before midday. An easter miracle in itself. And the Eldest joined me on my daily walk...just about the first time she has stepped foot outside in 3 weeks. Then our lovely neighbour's kids got dressed in very smart suits and delivered cake to our doorstep.
So all in all not a bad day 😊

catchup

Lockdown Days 17-19

All the days are pretty much blending into one at this stage.
Notable points:

  • The Eldest made us a WinnerWinnerChickenDinner one night and the best chocolate brownies in the whole-entire-world-ever another.
  • The Youngest is editing some photos for my sister's company. It's keeping him out of trouble and getting him out of gardening duties.
  • We have dug out the old Wii and have a nightly "Board Game Island" championship. I managed to win two nights in a row. The kids were fuming cos I'm shit at it really.
  • The Other Half chose a very sunny Easter Saturday to have a bonfire for all the trees he's hacked down. Some neighbours came to complain. We may have to wait till November to get rid now.
  • I am up to date with all my work and I'm taking the entire weekend off. Woohoo!

daily exercise

Lockdown Day 16

I literally sat in front of a screen all day today. Zero time for my walk. Even though it was the nicest day of the year.
I can't say I'm that bothered. If I'm honest I'm getting a bit bored of walking the same walk. Making sure to keep a safe distance from about a million people. And feeling obliged to smile/nod/say thanks/grunt at them all.

Meanwhile the OtherHalf's bike game is strong...

coronacancellations

Lockdown Day 15

Our girls holiday to Ibiza got cancelled today. We knew it would be. But now we KNOW know.
We are very sad.

bee safe

Lockdown Days 13 and 14

Stayed at home. Again.
Apart from my daily walk.
I made the mistake of going with the OtherHalf today.
He decided it would make more sense if a directional walking system was introduced, a bit like traffic. To avoid getting too close to people. Social distancing for walkers. Once side of the road to walk in one direction, the other side for the opposite way.
He thought it was the best idea ever not-invented
He then proceeded to get really irritated every time we walked past someone on the "wrong" side of the road. He was getting completely stressed by all the people who weren't conforming to the new rule. Which they didn't know about.

I'll go on my own tomorrow.

Saturday, 4 April 2020

easter holidays start here

Lockdown Day 12

Officially the first day of the Easter Holidays. In old money. Just another day in the new currency.
I combined my daily exercise with an egg delivery mission to my Mum and Dad. 16,433 steps. Makes up for the 472 steps I did on Wednesday.

Friday, 3 April 2020

friday

Lockdown Day 11

The OtherHalf: Garden.
The Youngest: Garden assistant.
The Eldest: Stayed up all night. Finished the frigging assignment. Uploaded it at 11.56. With 4 minutes to spare. Then went to bed. All day.
Me: Locked myself in my office, walked the dog, went to M&S.

Still...Friday is my favourite day...

Thursday, 2 April 2020

tree fella

Lockdown Day 10

The OtherHalf continued with his ExtremeGardening. He doesn't discriminate between weeds and legit foliage...if it's alive he chops it into a twig. The blossom tree was yesterday's victim. Today another 4 trees were butchered.

The Youngest was in charge of dragging dead branches off to await the shredder. (Tomorrow's job apparently.)

The Eldest is STILL writing the goddamn assignment. She was still at it at 4am. She then spent most of today in bed. The deadline is 12 noon tomorrow. TFFT. I'm not sure I could cope any longer.

march20

Lockdown Day 9

Wednesday night is girls night. So we got with the programme and leapt into 2020. Did girls night with Zoom. It's the future.

Meanwhile this was March in a pattern. Maddest month ever!
