Still lockdown. Day 69
Our garden has never seen so much action.
We've had three barbecues this week. And today...two garden haircuts.
I'm a hairdresser now you know.

lazing about
Lockdown Day EightHundredAndFortySomething?
I've lost count.
But who cares. It's amazing weather.
I've been spending much of it lounging around in the garden.
I don't want to be regretting anything when the world is back to normal and I'm working my arse off again do I?

very long weekend
Lockdown Days 62-64
It was another bank holiday this weekend.
Like we actually needed another one.
We decided to do a family DriveAndWalk.
But we figured that on bank holiday Monday it would be rammed everywhere. So we did bank holiday Tuesday instead.
We walked 22,469 steps and saw 22,470 sheep.
And only had 2.25 arguments.
Gotta love a long weekend.

bird traumas
Lockdown Days 60-61
It's been a sad couple of days for birds round here. They keep flying into the Eldest's bedroom window. We have found 3 on the decking since yesterday.
Dead.
The Eldest is traumatised.
Our resident bird expert (the OtherHalf) says they're baby starlings just learning to fly.
How sad is that?!

night shift
Lockdown Day 59
If this shit carries on much longer I fear that we may all be in the same time zone as the kids.
Up all night.
In bed all day.
Night shift here we come.

garden leave
Lockdown Day 58
It was the hottest day of the year so I spent the afternoon in the garden. To make the most of the extreme gardening the OtherHalf's been doing for the last 8 weeks. I pretended it was the weekend. Nobody knows what day it is anymore anyway.

sun day... on it's way
Lockdown Day 57
Apparently it's gonna be summer tomorrow.
For one day only.
I'm gonna pretend it's the weekend.
No-one will notice.

life in the slow lane
Lockdown Days 55 and 56
Life in the slow lane continues...
Yesterday we went for a 7 mile walk.
We planned the route around the ice cream shop.
But we arrived to find that the queue was as long as bloody Disneyland on the busiest day of the year.
The OtherHalf refused to hang around for an hour for my chocolate + coconut twin cone.
We walked home.
Sulking.
Today's highlight was our weekly trip to the big Tesco. I have to say the novelty is wearing off somewhat and I have remembered why I used to order a delivery online.

small steps...far apart
Lockdown Days 52-53
I went for a walk with my sister yesterday. It's new. You can do that now. As long as you don't get too close.
We had an ice cream en route. You can do that too. As long as you queue outside for ages, miles away from anyone else. And pay by a contactless method.
Today we had a surprise visit from the sister-in-law and niece. All the way from Sheffield. They didn't come in. They stood at the end of the drive for a nice catchup chat before going to surprise the mother-in-law. You can also do that now.
We didn't go shopping or out for a meal or to the pub. You still can't do that.
But we're taking a step in the right direction.
Slowly.

yay, nurses
Lockdown Days 50-51
Yesterday was International Nurses Day.
It was also the day I lost my shit.
My patience at having 3 other people here while I'm trying to work finally snapped after 7 weeks. It was triggered by a frozen up freezer. And an argument between the OtherHalf and the Eldest about whose fault it was. Right. Outside. My. Studio. Door.
The freezer meltdown was either caused by Jodie needing 24 bloody ice cubes every day for her iced coffees or Neil's sodding "bladder", from his bike rucksack, that has to live in the freezer to avoid death by bacteria.
I had my own meltdown when they were screaming at each other and hacking the freezer to death with a knife outside my door.
The realisation that this is gonna carry on for months was all too much for me.
Anyway, big thanks to all the nurses. They are real life super heroes. They have much bigger problems than me and they never lose their shit.

stay cool
Lockdown Day 49
We had our weekly trip to the big Tesco. The Eldest did my Mum and Dad's shopping again. She's loving it. It's the highlight of our week. Apart from VE Day parties of course.
So that's 2 highlights this week.
Happy days!
Meanwhile social media was erupting today following Boris's review yesterday.
People either moaning that the new measures went too far or moaning that they don't go far enough.
Stay cool people.
And stop bloody moaning.

autumn weather
Lockdown Day 48
Even the weather is sick of lockdown. It's done a fast forward to September. It was bloody freezing today.
Exciting stuff though, TGI Friday's opened for click and collect. The Youngest was VERY happy with our Sunday dinner.

VE Day
Lockdown Days 46-47
Yesterday:
It was VE Day. A special bank holiday to celebrate 75 years.
And celebrate we did.
We had a little socially distanced street party. Joyce and Albert from next door couldn't come out so I delivered scones to them. The rest of us sat at the end of our drives and had mucho food and far too mucho drink.
We stayed out till 2.30am and wondered why we have never done this before!
This morning our postie had a parcel for us. I dragged my arse out of bed to open the door and was greeted by the sight of our garden furniture on the drive. Complete with empty cans and bottles and loads of leftover food.
I said "Oh I'm so ashamed."
The postman said "Pickled onions? You're posh round here!" 😬
Today:
I have done very little and will be ready for bed as soon as I've eaten my Saturday night takeaway curry.

early weekend
Lockdown Day 45
Well it's a bank holiday tomorrow so I suppose you could say it's now the weekend.
In case that makes any difference to anyone anymore.
Cheers everyone.

another day
Lockdown Day 44
I went for a 1.5 hour walk (Is that allowed? Probably not. No-one seems to care any more though) whilst on a 1.5 hour phone call with my sister. While she was on her own 1.5 hour walk. It was the next best thing to actually going on a 1.5 hour walk with her.
I miss my sister.
Meanwhile the Other Half and The Youngest were still chopping stuff down in the garden and the Eldest was tap tap tapping away at her keyboard writing stuff about Socrates.
Just another day in lockdown.

hey we're going to Ibiza
Lockdown Day 39
I was meant to fly to Ibiza this morning with my friends.
I'm not in Ibiza.
I'm in Yorkshire.
It's 7 degrees.
But I bought 9 x Passion Star Martinis from M&S.
In tins.
I've drunk 3 of them and I'm hammered!
So who needs Ibiza?
