this was august...

The end of August usually means that Summer buggers off and the Autumn weather arrives overnight.

Not this year though.

This year it's been April since April and, apart from a week of sunshine in June, Summer gave the UK a strong swerve.

I feel cheated.

Both kids are home.

The house is filled to capacity.

There are piles of their stuff EVERYWHERE.

I am a full time taxi driver.

And the washing machine is wondering what happened.

But it's so lovely having them home 😊

On Sunday we went to the coast and I had a seagull lesson. From Neil. The resident bird expert.

(They're not called seagulls FYI. They have other gull names.)

And yesterday was International Cat Day. 

I'm not that into cats myself. But I do seem to draw a lot of them. So I recycled a few and made a pattern. I expect the correct term is 'cattern'? 

Dunno? I'll ask Neil.

new month, new colours, new newsletter

New colours for August...which feels pretty much like October round here so far...it did not stop raining once yesterday and it was bloody freezing...

My nephew phoned me yesterday to tell me he was driving a tractor.

busy week

This is all I've had chance to draw this week.... been busy with my lovely friend Sar who came all the way  from Cardiff to stay. I've had the best week!

I'm on day 101 of Duolingo. I'm practically fluent now.

I’d like to announce that (unlike literally everyone else this week) I’m NOT on Threads.
Nor am I on Tiktok.

I AM on Twitter. But I forget to ever look at it.

And I AM on Facebook but it’s full of Moaning Minnies and people showing off about their holidays so I don’t look at it very often.

I’m on BeReal cos I’m down with the kids.

I’m also on Snappychat. But only to annoy my kids when they ignore all other methods of communication.

And I AM on Instagram but only about 600 people ever see my posts and I mostly hate reels and I really wish it was like it used to be in the olden days. But… progress and all that.

I’ll probably join threads next month when I start to feel left out. 

Meanwhile I drew a little STILL still life pic for the gram.
