falling standards in the wardrobe department

I have freelanced from home for 9 years. And for the last year I think I've worn the same grey jumper and jeans combo like every day. It's not that I don't have a wardrobe full of stylish loveliness you understand. I studied Fashion Design for god's sake! It's just that even with the heating on full blast it's flipping cold. And no-one sees me. Apart from the mums at school. And their idea of style is an anorak from M&S and a nice pair of mum jeans. Next to them I'm the most fashionable person EVER.
So yesterday I decided to make an effort. For myself. I put on a nice little black top. Still with jeans, didn't want the other half thinking I was having an affair or anything. I stuck it out for 3 hours. Shivering. Then put the grey jumper back on.
It's just too cold. And no-one sees me.
It's bad I know. But not as bad as staying in my pj's all day....or HORROR tacksuit pants!

  8. Haha Love it!! I go to school in wellies everyday. I drop my son off then immediately take my dog out for a walk. I then work all day and then take dog out (in wellies) and pick up son. One of the Mums asked me what I did and I said I was a textile designer, she kinda looked at me like "yeah right" in a disbelieving way. I'm constantly drawn to tight dresses and high heels when I go shopping. They would never get a look in, in my daily life! I'll stick to my wellies jumpers and jeans - I do have terribly fashionable geeky glasses though!!
