clutter

Too much to do and too little time and birthdays and nights out and school holidays and crap weather means a right bloody mess in our house. Still got loads of camping stuff lying around doing my head in with no real place to live except the garage or loft - and I can't face either. 
And birthday presents. And the new bike. And washing. And work. 
Planning a big clearout once the kids bugger off back to school....but it probably won't happen will it?!

Where do those people with neat and tidy houses find the time?

...or are they just dull???

I'm back!

Had a fab time camping, loved the tent, loved the duck down sleeping bag, loved the chinese & indian takeaways and the fish and chips by the sea (thought about cooking for a minute but sod that, I was on holiday!) hated the couple who arrived at 6 am and put their tent up on top of ours very loudly and hated their dog who snored all night every night!
Anyway got back to busy busy busy-ness. Little man's 7th birthday complete with trips to the bike shop and toys r us to spend his cash...wedding on Saturday...big bank holiday night out Sunday....hangovers and work.... holiday completely forgotten now!

Love my new converse so much I bought the littlies a pair each!

tree fella

The neighbours at the back moaned that one of our trees was too high so we had to have it cut down a bit today. Two chaps came with their chainsaws. They were only here a couple of hours but managed to drink a million cups of tea each. I had to keep breaking off work to put the bloody kettle on. I don't even drink tea so this was a right chore I can tell you!

Anyways, due to all that tea making I'm gonna be in a right rush tomorrow so won't have time to post before the camping trip.

my weekend...

Yesterday we shipped the little people off to my Mum and Dad's and me and the other half went to DJ Mark's wedding. He's not a DJ anymore but he used to be so he's still called DJ Mark. He married Flori from Romania. She is as mad as a frog! It was a brilliant wedding!
Today we went to the camping shop and bought stuff.
We are all ready for our maiden voyage on Wednesday. Well not really 'cos I have a zillion things to do before then but at least we got all the stuff.

converse convert

I know I said I look like a golf club in Converse. But that was the normal shape converse. In this shape I don't look anything like a golf club. I look fabulous! Bought them yesterday :-)
All set for camping now ...Once we buy sleeping bags. And an air bed. And a table. And chairs. And stuff...

bike ride

Well done to my other half who cycled 93 miles today to raise money for a friend who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. The boys raised over £3000 to fund alternative treatment down in Southampton.
Well done chaps :-)

shoe dilema

I have sandals and flip flops for summer, boots and more boots for winter, heels for nights out, slippers for nights in, wellibobs for rain and the odd pair of ballet pumps for when none of the above are suitable.....but I don't have anything for crappy days when it's meant to be summer but it's Britain and it's not very warm and it's a little bit wet and a little bit windy....and cold...
And as it's less than 2 weeks before we go on our camping trip to the Isle of Man I feel that this major wardrobe gap needs to be filled.
A bit stuck what to fill it with though.
I don't do trainers. And I look like a golf club in Converse...
All other suggestions most welcome...

new obsession

This week I discovered Poppy Dinsey's fab blog What I Wore Today .....loved it and got myself an invitation to her new Beta site where other people can upload what they wore today too so that everyone can gush about how fabulous they look and give them stars and everything!
Decided to try the experiment myself to see if I could stop wearing jeans and a black top every day.

Don't panic, I didn't post the photos! Clearly I am twenty years older than everyone on there and my clothes are more mother-of-two-who-works-from-home than funky-young-girl-with-lots-of-time-on-her-hands-who-can-faff-around-in-her-wardrobe-every-morning.
And it turns out I actually quite like wearing jeans and a black top. Just easier. And no-one sees me anyway. Except the kids. And the other half. Like they'd notice what I wear....

spare time?

Wowee...days are so much longer without all that after school activity stuff making me rush around like a mad fool.
Even had time to do the complete ironing pile this aft!

Oh, and the little man lost his first tooth...hope the tooth fairy shows up tonight 'cos she bloody forgot the last time the big one's tooth fell out...
