final countdown

Woooo it's less than a week to go before we jet off on our hols.
Can't. Bloody. Wait!

longer days

It never used to be this way but now the kiddos are big the days seem so much longer in the school hols. Maybe it's the lack of a school run at 3pm ballsing up my flow? Or the fact that they just help themselves to the contents of the fridge when they're hungry?
Whatever it is I'm not complaining. Been most productive AGAIN today :)

getting shit done

Today I did a full day's work, half an hour's yoga, dropped the eldest off at the bus stop, picked the eldest up from the bus stop, put away the Tesco delivery, ordered new suitcases for our jollies, made a WinnerWinnerChickenDinner for the fam, booked an electrician and sorted out a hair appointment for the dog.
School holidays? Killing it!

dotty day out

We had a lovely day out yesterday at Trentham Gardens with Wendy and Susan from the Dotty Wrens. Lizzie was living her best life down in Cornwall so she couldn't make it.
We talk to each other every single day even though we live miles apart. I couldn't manage without them, they are truly my design besties.
This was the first time we let our kids join in on a DottyDayOut tough. Now they've realised how bloody entertaining we are they'll be wanting to join us every time.

slowdown art comp

This week my insta feed was full of #slowdownartcomp posts. So I joined in. Not to win obvs. I don't think they even do kid's products. But just to run away from the work I was meant to be doing for a bit.
I did this one first cos I was trying to go with the flow....

But it looked pretty shitty next to all the amazing entries so I stopped trying to fit in and just did my own thing.

I love doing personal work. No-one to please but myself. Wishing it could be more like that IRL. Real work for me always seems to involve the sentence "Can you make it smile please." Or "Can you lose the pink cos it's no good for boys."
*eyeroll*
Most clients I have ever worked with "really like my style"....but also really want to change it to fit what they think the mainstream customer would like to buy.
Not that it's particularly UNmainstream to start with.

Anyway, that's my Wednesday moan over.
Now back to drawing smiley rabbits in non gender specific colours...

ps If @slowdownstudios want to branch into kids blankets you know who to call 😜
