This is the barn owl who lives over the back moor. He's usually spotted at dusk so we don't see him in summer. But dusk is creeping ever earlier so we might spot him again soon.

I mean he's a lovely sight.

But I'd prefer to keep the 10pm daylight ta.

Look, whoever switched the weather onto it's autumn setting, could you please switch it back to summer. It's not time yet. Stop being annoying!

 

august birthday

Our little monkey had a birthday yesterday. And horror of horrors he had to work!

The kid who was always on some exotic foreign holiday on his birthday, or in recent times had the bank holiday to shield him, had to actually do a full day's work!

I mean, he made it to 22 before he could no longer blag a free day off.... but still....poor Alf!

Well August has been flipping busy so far. Busy with work and busy with play. 

Not so busy with personal work cos I haven't had a minute....

We're off to the horsey races tomorrow.

I'm not that fussed about horses. Or racing. But I'm excited to see everyone. Especially Tina and Kevin from the Isle of Man cos we don't see them nearly enough. And I'm looking forward to wearing the fancy frock and eating the nice food and drinking all the drinks.

I'll just ignore the horsey part.

balloon story

I was walking through the carpark in our local retail park yesterday when suddenly this bloke flew by me at a million miles an hour. I looked up to see that he was chasing a helium balloon that had escaped. His fingers were about 3mm away from the string when a sudden gust of wind sent it rocketing into space. 

I was waiting to get eye contact with this bloke so that I could express my deepest sympathy. We've all been there.

But he didn't look at me. He just bent over double and screeched from the top of his lungs, "FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!"

So that was nice.

He'll pay the extra £1.50 for a weight next time I imagine.

getting carried away with carbon paper

I finished all my real work yesterday... so of course I decided to do some more carbon paper sketches. I can't get enough of that carbon paper choppery.

I went for a nautical vibe this time...

And now today it's a very grey day. My fault. Soz!

This is what I did whilst "watching" the World Cup final last night...

I stole the technique from Lada Chizhova on the gram. It involves chopping up carbon paper and scribbling on it. It was much more fun than the sodding World Cup.
