You wait 12 months for a bunch of flowers and 3 come along at once! Lucky old me :)
First I got the Valentine's Day roses. Then my friend dropped off another bunch along with her kids when they came to stay for the night. Then yesterday I met another friend for a coffee. Her Dad died recently so I took her some lilies. And in a freakish coincidence she turned up with some for me!! Lilies! The same! How weird is that!
Feel free to send me a bunch next week people. My studio is a happier place with flowers.
It was half term this week. In sleep terms it started off good. Really good. No alarm clocks just WakeUpWhenYouWakeUp. The kids sleep late these days. The big one would sleep all day given half the chance. So all was good in the land of nod. But then on Thursday me and the other half went to this wedding and didn't go to bed till 2 o'clock. In. The. Morning! And then on Friday night my friend's kids were staying over. Which was ok cos they're 7 and 10 and know how to sleep. But in a last minute plan change the sister-in-law asked us to have our niece as well. She's 3. She doesn't know how to sleep. She knows how to wake up 4 times in the night asking for Mummy. And she knows how to wake up super early full of beans and raring to go.
I am past that stage in my life.
I am exhausted.
I had to have a NanaNap this afternoon.
That is all.

Love is in the air this weekend... but it will have to wait till tomorrow in our house. I'm out with the girls tonight. Well, this afternoon actually. We're starting early. Need to avoid all those annoying Valentine couples....
We have to set off to school at 7.15 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays cos the little one does this compulsory reading thing. Where they don't actually read anything. Twice. A. Week.
Getting up at stupid o'clock goes down really well in our house.
But this morning it was ever-so-slightly-a-little-bit light when we set off! Not like bright sunlight or anything. But not pitch black. So that's a step in the right direction isn't it? #springisontheway

It's the year of the monkey. The other half is a monkey. And so is the little one. I will say no more.
Today my sister MADE me go to the park. In the rain. With 4 kids. But no dogs cos it was too muddy for dogs when you don't own a dog shower.
Anyway, it was surprisingly good. It's always better in crap weather cos there's no-one else there. We only saw a couple of hardy dog owners. The ones who have an in-built dog shower in their hallway. The kids had mucho fun making like Peppa Pig and jumping in muddy puddles. We made like Daddy Pig and laughed a lot.
So.....is it nearly summer yet?
Well that's the grimmest month of the year out of the way. Have I mentioned I hate January?
I know February is still grim. But it's lighter a bit longer, it's half term AND it's only a short one.
Not as short as normal though. Someone sneaked an extra day in at the end. The buggers. Add the extra day to August you idiots!
As if it wasn't bad enough that I've been lumbered with the position of chauffeur for the little one after scouts on a Friday night....I now appear to be a taxi service for the big one's social life - which this month involves a lot of parties. I did well tonight, got away with just the drop off. Her friend's mum gets the unenviable task of collecting them later.
My turn next week. Oh yay!
It snowed last night. Not much. About 5cm. With no more forecast for today. But did that stop BloodyAlbertFromNextDoor from shovelling his drive? LOUDLY? On a Sunday morning? At 7.40am? No. It did not.

FYI it's all melted now. So that was a waste of bloody time. Again.
I look crap in a hat. My head is too small I think. Or something. Cos they really don't suit me. But I didn't care today. It was freezing. And anyway, the rest of my outfit left something to be desired. This cold weather is doing nothing for my fashion credentials.
It's the clouds. That's what make it worse. The sodding clouds. They make everything darker. If it was cold with a bit of blue sky it wouldn't be as bad. But the flipping clouds keep hanging about. Mostly chucking out rain.
On a positive note I saw something amusing tonight. A lady jogging. Wearing a head torch! Ha ha! Just ridiculous.

3. It's about as far as you can possibly get from the summer holidays.
4. Everyone twitting on about gym membership.
5. It's dark. And cold. And wet.
6. Those cheery souls who post a picture of a flamingo with the caption "Ooh it's cold and dark so here's a picture of a flamingo to cheer you up!" Really?
7. TV and radio people talking about the Nutribullet as if it's just been invented.
8. It's dark. And grey.
9. The amount of joggers on the streets when I venture out. Even though it's DARK.
10. It's dark. STILL.
